Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.  Five (5) years as a staff accountant or auditor, governmental experience required.  Computer experience with spreadsheets, databases, word processing and financial statement preparation including fixed assets.  This is a highly responsible supervisory professional accounting and auditing position in the Finance Department.  The work involves coordinating financial accounting controls of the City Funds, Audits of Financial transactions, preparation of financial statements and reports and other professional work relating to the general accounting and budgetary systems some of which must be submitted to the federal and state government programs.  Perform work in the Accounting Section for maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, budget control ledgers and all other financial records, including the City's debt trust accounts and pension systems. Coordinates the accounting and auditing of Federal and State programs and grants For a complete list of duties and responsibilities see job description.  This position requires successful passing of a background check and drug screening.   Selected applicant must furnish upon selection valid driver's license and educational credentials.
