High school graduate, supplemented by training in storm water drainage, roadway or general construction repairs; Associate's Degree preferred. Five (5) years experience in Public Works functions, i.e., repair and maintenance, inspection and reporting of repair maintenance of drainage systems and NPDES regulatory compliance and reporting or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Possession of valid Florida Driver's License.
This is a highly responsible position that assists with the implementation of the City's Municipal Stormwater Management Program. The employee is expected to be fully knowledgeable of all Federal, State, and Local regulations, guidelines and requirements as it relates to the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) program. Some duties and responsibilities include Assisting in the development of City's Storm Water Management and Maintenance Program; managing public storm drainage facilities located on city-owned property, city right-of-way and city easements. This includes open drainage ways, piped drainage ways, flood control facilities (detention/retention basins), wetlands and flood plains, and drainage ditches; prepares and maintain records as it relates to the NPDES program; Attends required NPDES meeting in the local area.
